Mission Statement

The Family Information Service performs a statutory duty under Section 12 of the Childcare Act 2006.

A priority for the service is to help those families most in need. We provide support in a variety of ways: face to face, including outreach visits to community venues, by phone and by email.  We also provide one to one brokerage support for families who need extra help finding childcare. 

Provision of information enables parents and carers to exercise choice regarding services that will support their family and children.

Information is available for the whole family, including grandparents and extended family members, targeted to reflect the needs of the local community and delivered in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Delivery of the service is informed by feedback from stakeholders, including service users.
