Mission Statement

Poole Family Information Service is an integrated element of the Local Authority's Customer Services approach. Its strategic lead is provided through the multi-agency Children's Trust, as per Section 12 of the Childcare Act 2006.

It aims to make information easily accessible from a choice of locations and in different media and formats. FIS information delivery will seek to demonstrate how Children's Services, organisations, groups and communities in Poole are working together to provide information for young people and families that can improve their quality of life in the borough.

The FIS will reach out to disadvantaged and hard to reach families to overcome barriers to access. It will deliver its information in a manner that allows parents to exercise choice and become informed and empowered consumers of available services that support family life and their children.

Information will be accessible to all family members including fathers, grandparents and extended family members; targeted to reflect the diversity of the local community; and delivered in line with the Equality Act 2010.

FIS delivery will be informed by feedback from all stakeholders (including service users) who utilise services.

The Family Information Service aims to reflect a 'User Friendly Service' as per the perceptions and needs of parents, following the principles of the Customer Services Strategy.
