Protecting Children

This section provides information on services providing advice and support on issues including bullying, drugs, e-safety, domestic violence and safeguarding children. Click on the links for further information.

If you are worried about a child and it's an emergency, call 999. For local help, there are two teams in Dorset:

If you live in Bournemouth, Christchurch or Poole call the Children's Services First Response Hub on 01202 123334.

If you live in Dorset you can call the Children’s Advice and Duty Service on 01305 228866

If you need to speak to someone outside normal hours (9am to 5pm) please contact the Out of Hours Teams on:

  • Dorset - 01305 228558

You can also contact Childline by either text, email or phoning their free 24-hour helpline on 0800 1111 or text the NSPCC helpline anonymously on 88858.
