An Ofsted registered childminder can look after other people's children in their own home for more than 2 hours per day. Some childminders offer the free entitlement to childcare places for 2, 3 and 4 years olds. They are usually registered to look after 3 children aged under 5 and 3 children aged 5 to 8 years of age. Some may look after children up to the age of 14. This type of childcare is registered and inspected by Ofsted (www.ofsted.gov.uk).
Childcare is a universal service which means provision is inclusive. Where service records are showing the SEND logo (as above) additional information is available on support for children with SEN and disabilities. See the Local Offer tab on the service record for the SEN information report.
